Welcome to SideCarDude.COM
Hi, my name is Ray, I am the dude! Welcome to my world.
As of today, 11/11/2011, I am 46 years old, and live back and forth between Schiller Park and Galena Illinois. I spend most of my time taking care of my mother, both properties, two dogs, and managing SideCarDude.COM Enterprises. Currently, this consists of running a small ebay business, and getting the "High House Inn", a bed and breakfast nestled in the hills of Galena, Illinois, ready for operations.
This gives me the opportunity to explore my artistic side, writing, painting, creating music, and poetry. Life is short so I am sacrificing material gains to pursue a simpler, more spiritually beneficial lifestyle.
One of my passions is Motorcycles, and particularly, old goldwings with an attached sidecar. Certainly any sidecar rig is a wondrous sight, but they sure seemed to be more prevalent during the Goldwing's tenure as the premier touring motorcycle. Personally, I have seen more sidecars on old goldwings than on any other bike. My favorite combo has to be the 75-77 Wing and Vetter Terraplane. Read in my Blog how I met Craig Vetter, the designer of the Terraplane, while purchasing his personal sidecar. Johnny Sweet is another designer I admire, from the old SL-220 to his current Victory Trike add-on for Lehman Trikes, Johnny has a unique and timeless knack for creating moving art.
Besides old classic motorcycle's SideCarDude.COM Enterprises is involved in Electric Vehicles, and currently own 2 electric bicycles, 2 electric tricycles, and one electric two person tandem bicycle. Another project for 2012 will be a 48V EV built using a high powered scooter wheel. My thoughts, ideas, mistakes, and aspirations will all be posted.
Another one of my passions is philosophy. Some day's I can be found indulging and contemplating the writings and likes of Descartes, Aristotle, David Hume, and Immanuel Kant. If you have three minutes check out the video at the bottom of this page. Other day's I can be found exploring the mind of the psychopath, what Dr. Robert Hare calls our "Intra-Species Predator". Thomas Sheridan is another excellent source for information on psychopathy.
Finally, Astronomy and Quantum physics, the study of what is, the nature of reality, these are all area's that intrigue me. Sign my guest book and tell me what interests you.
